AIKEN, S.C. – Two suspected gunmen are on the run after a Burger King robbery in Aiken.

The Burger King at 1110 York Street NE was robbed Saturday afternoon according to Aiken Public Safety.

Investigators say four armed men entered the restaurant and held up the cashiers with customers inside. Employees were forced into the restaurant’s freezer while the gunmen broke into the registers and stole money.

Officers caught one man behind the Burger King and arrested a second nearby.

Investigators say a third man carjacked a couple at a car wash close to the restaurant. Public Safety is still searching for him and a fourth suspect.

North Aiken Elementary School was put on lockdown for a short time when officials learned about the nearby robbery. The school was putting on a carnival for students and families, Saturday.

No customers or personnel were armed I take it? Pure luck no one hurt by the robbers. The police at least got there in time to catch some of the robbers after the fact fleeing but God help the family who got carjacked/kidnapped by one or more of the punks who got away. Not safe anymore to go out unarmed.
