AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Richmond County Health Department will hold a special H1N1 Flu Clinic Wednesday.
It be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 950 Laney Walker Blvd.
Supply is limited and the clinic is for "priority groups".
Nasal Mist Available to the Following Only:
2-49 year old healthy people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age
Up to age 49 year old healthy health care or emergency personnel
You Cannot Take Nasal Mist:
If you have had wheezing in the past year
If you have received nasal mist within last 30 days
Are on high dose aspirin therapy
If you are pregnant
Have diabetes, asthma, chronic diseases
If you have received a live vaccine(eg: MMR or Varicella) in the last 30 days
Inactivated H1N1(the “flu shot”) Available to the Following Only:
Pregnant women
People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age who do not qualify for the flu mist
Health care and emergency medical personnel (up to age 49 with certain chronic conditions or weakened immune system) or (healthy age 50-64)
Anyone from 6 months up to 2 yrs old
2 yrs-64 years old with certain chronic conditions or weakened immune system
As more vaccine becomes available, these groups should also be vaccinated:
Healthy 25 through 64 years olds
Adults 65 years and older
Note: The Laney Walker Clinic will not be administering H1N1 vaccine or mist on: Monday, November 16th and Tuesday, November 17th
