Bass Pro Shops halts construction on new stores

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The manager of Bass Pro Shops says the company is not building new stores right now, including the one scheduled to be built in Augusta.

On Sunday the company laid off half-a-dozen employees who are in charge of designing new buildings.

The manager blames the economy.

A Bass Pro Shops store was scheduled to be open now at The Village at Riverwatch Parkway.
