GreenJackets Hire Roberto Kelly As New Skipper

A former Atlanta Brave is the new manager of the Augusta GreenJackets.

The team announced on Monday that its hired Roberto Kelly to be their field manager. It's Kelly's first job as a professional manager.

Kelly played fourteen years in the Major Leagues, including a stint with the Atlanta Braves in 1994.

The 2-time A-L All-Star finished his career in 2000 with 1,390 hits.

The GreenJackets also announced that Ross Grimsley is the team's new pitching coach. The former left-hander pitched professionally for eleven seasons for Cincinnati, Baltimore, Montreal and Cleveland.

Jerome Brown was named Augusta's hitting instructor. Brown played ten seasons in the Major Leagues with four different teams.
