Reese Hoffa stepped to the line in Eugene, Oregon and the reigning world champ rose to the occasion... putting the shot 72 feet 6 and a quarter inches... that's what I'm talking about... Reese Hoffa will headline the USA track and field team headed to Bejing... Congratulations and best wishes goes out to the Hoffa family in Harlem tonight... as the countdown to Bejing continues on your Olympics station right here in Augusta... NBC Augusta.

And we're not done yet because another athlete from Augusta and from the University of Georgia, Sarah Madebach, a distance runner from Augusta Christian will compete in the womens 3000 steeplechase Monday night in Oregon... so Reese and maybe Sarah too will be competing for team USA..we'll keep you posted.
