Stan Byrdy

...the eye of the storm was centered right over Hagood Stadium for much of the night... on what turned out to be a great night for football... ...except for those hurricane warnings... Hurricane Hudson... Hudson Smith spinning out of control... as Aiken takes a 7-0 lead on Silver Bluff...

On the ensuing kickoff Silver Bluff's Frederick Garnett goes 50 yards... and that sets up the score that tied things at 7 all... as 2A Silver Bluff would not go away easily against 4A Aiken... but the winds of the Hurricane were brewiing... 2nd quarter, Kessler Scott... whatcha got... I got some good yardage Byrdman... and he did indeed... but that just stirred up the hurricane a bit... give it to hudson why dont you they do...
and when you got a good thing going stick with it... as they rode the Hudson Hornet into the endzone for their second score on the night... 14-7 Aiken at the half... Aiken wins it 14 to 7 against Silver Bluff.

Cosstown in Aiken there was also football beneath the steeple... North Augusta paying a visit to South Aiken in a defensive standoff through 3 quarters... North Augusta led 7-0 at the half... on a hard hitting night of football... late in the third quarter North Augusta rallies again... this time in the airlanes... as Travis Murphy flies the friendly skies to Matt Hazel for a big gain... North Augusta wins 21-0 to go to 2-0 onthe season.
