With 72 wins Tommy Bowden ranks third on Clemson's all time wins list, falling only behind Frank Howard and Danny Ford. He is also the only Clemson coach to ever record seven consecutive winning seasons, but it's what he couldn't do that cost him his job.

On Monday Bowden and the university parted ways after 9 seasons. Wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney will take over on an interim basis.

The Tigers, who began the year as favorites to win the ACC are 3 and 3 on the season.
