A look back with William Avery

In college there were very few better than William Avery. AP honorable mention All-American, Sports Illustrated cover boy and he helped lead Duke to the 1999 National Championship game his sophomore season.

It was after that sophomore season the Westside product declared for the NBA draft where he was taken 14th overall by Minnesota.

Avery though could never really find the same success he had in college as he played just 3 NBA seasons.

Saturday NBC Augusta's Jason Folk caught up with him and asked him if he had the chance to do it again would he do it differently.

"In a perfect world I guess I would say that I would stay, but for more reasons than just basketball. Another two years could've prepared me for being a professional. I'm happy with my life and what I have accomplished. I have a great family and I'm going to continue to try and do better for myself." said Avery

Avery is currently playing professionally in Greece.
