In the 15 year span from 1988 to 2002 no football program in the state of South Carolina was better than Barnwell. Three state championship game appearances and more wins in that stretch than any other school in the Palmetto State. On Friday night one of the men to lead them during that time frame got a crack at them.

Dwayne Garrick, who coached the Warhorses from 2000 to 2002 entering his third season at the helm at Williston Elko. His Blue Devil club would jump up early. Dexter Staley would score three times in the first half.

Barnwell got scores from Colby Carter and Jerome Walker in the first half but that's all they could muster in this one. Williston led 28-14 at halftime they put the pedal down in the second half to get the 56-14 victory.

Next week Williston hosts Ashley Ridge. Barnwell will welcome in Blackville-Hilda.
