The winner of this series heads to Omaha for the 2008 College Baseball World Series. Former Greenbrier standout Rich Poythress now plays first base for Georgia. Two members of the 'Dawgs, shortstop Gordon beckham and pitcher Josh Fields have been taken in the first round of the Major League Baseball Summer Draft. Beckham was picked 8th overall by the Chicago White Sox and Fields 20th overall by the Seattle Mariners.
