All eyes were on Paul Johnson's offense Wednesday afternoon as Georgia Tech took the field for the first time this summer.

The question of the day, will the option work in Atlanta.

"There's a lot of I know excitement for myself a lot of anticipation to get out here.

You still have to remember you're in shorts and it's the first day, but the first game is creeping up on us. It'll be here before you know it," said Johnson.

"I think we did well today. We've gotten better since the spring. We've still got to work on the little things. I think we got it pretty good," said quarterback Josh Nesbitt.

The anchor of the team, at least early on, appears to be the defense lead by Ben Anderson, a graduate of South Aiken High School and former Westside High School standout Alex Walker.

They say despite the doubters they have full confidence the offense can get it done.

"We're pretty confident in our offense. The defense has got to work hard the offense has got to work hard. We put it together and we'll be a great team," said Walker.

"A lot of people doubt our offense, but personally I think it'll work because the ACC schools aren't used to this kind of offense. I think it'll be a shock to them," said Anderson.
