AUGUSTA, Ga. - Every year over 2400 professional golfers attempt to qualify for the PGA Tour through the grueling process known as Q-School.

Several golfers with local ties have advanced through to the final stage.

Augusta's Emmet Turner won the qualifying tournament in Kingwood, Texas, finishing at 15-under, going 54 straight holes without a bogey. Former Clemson standout Brian Duncan finished 6th at 9-under, and Aiken's Stephen Poole finished tied for 10th, at 6-under. All three advance to the final stage.

In the qualifying tournament held in Pine Mountain, Georgia, another big name from Aiken, former Georgia Bulldog standout, Kevin Kisner, ran away from the field with a first round 64. Kisner led Georgia to a National Championship in 2005. He was dominant over the last two days of the qualifier, with back-to-back 66's, to finish at 25-under, seven strokes ahead of the second place finisher. That second place finisher was Kisner's good friend Scott Brown. He finished at 18-under. Brown was part of two national championship teams at USC Aiken.

Aiken's Alex Hamilton also qualified for the final stage, which will be played at Bear Lake Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The final stage begins on Wednesday December 2.
