Hobbling home after 3 straight losses and no longer in first place, the GreenJackets were in need of a victory against the visiting Hickory Crawdads. It would take the A-team until the 5th inning to dent the scoreboard. After a Sharlom Shoop bloop to right center, the stage was set for Marcus Sanders to do his thing... and he did, with a gap shot double to drive in two runs and the GreenJackets win 7 to 0 at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

At James Brown Arena, the Augusta Spartans were battling for a spot in the World Indoor Football League playoffs. The Spartans went to their go-to guy, wide receive Marvin Stone, who responded with another big night. Stone caught 7 passes for 195 yards and 4 touchdowns. It all came down to a field goal attempt by Daytona Beach in the closing moments. The kick was no good and the Spartans prevail 42-40 to raise their record to 6-5 overall.
