It was a match up of two of the top teams in the state of South Carolina single A as unbeaten Williston Elko played host to the defending state champions and unbeaten Blackville Hilda. This could actually be a preview of the state championship game, hard to believe considering Blackville and Williston are in the same region and just separated by 10 miles. See the lower state has an uneven number of teams, thus when the playoffs start Blackville will move to the lower state, and Williston will remain in the upper state.

These two teams had scored a combined 831 points through 18 games this season. The story of the first half was Williston's inability to hold on to the football. The Blue Devils would turn it over four times in the first half leading to a 14 nothing lead for Blackville. Joe Thomas would score both Hawk touchdowns in the first half. Blackville would add another touchdown in the second half for the 21 to nothing win.
