Strom Thurmond holds off Silver Bluff in 'AA' showdown

It was a battle of two of the top double A programs in the state of South Carolina on Friday Night as Strom Thurmond played host to Silver Bluff.

Silver Bluff would build a 12 nothing lead in the first quarter thanks to the ground attack lead by Andre Washington and Cordell Tankersly.

The Rebels refused to go away though. Early in the second quarter running back Freddy Johnson would get in on a direct snap from 2 yards out to make it a 12-7 game.

It would stay that way at halftime, but the second half would belong to the Rebels as they got the 28-12 victory on Friday night. Up next Silver Bluff travels to Ridgeland while Strom Thurmond is at Mid Carolina.
