Irmo holds off North Augusta 31-24

If you like offense then North Augusta was the place to be on Friday night as the Yellow Jackets were hosting Irmo. The two teams had combined for 438 points through the first six games of the season.

North Augusta trailed at the half 17-10 but came out and took control early in the third quarter when Lorenzo Hammonds hit Jessie Pernell for a 12 yard touchdown. Extra point would tie it at 17.

It would stay that way until early in the fourth quarter when Irmo's David Olsen hit David Frazier for an 83 yard touchdown giving Irmo a 24-17 lead.

North Augusta would battle back with about six minutes left Hammonds hit Zach Sadler for a 42 yard touchdown. Game would be tied once again, but Irmo would score again late to win it 31-24.

Next week North Augusta hosts Orangeburg-Wilkinson.
