Stan Byrdy

The legendary Ty Cobb's batting average over his 24 years in the majors was a best ever .366. The 366' on the fence in rightfield at Lake Olmstead Stadium is marked in honor of Cobb... and just to the right of that mark stands a new addition to the ballpark... the NBC Augusta Peacock. Cobb began his professional career with the Augusta Tourists in 1904 and lived in Augusta for 25 years.

The Augusta Greenjackets continue their series on the road to Hickory... so the stadium will again be empty... until Saturday when the 'Jackets host Asheville in a weekend series.
