Stan Byrdy

Back in 1946 Lou Brissie owned the Southern League... registering 272 strikeouts with a 1.91 era... and 23 victories...fast forward 61 years... and another lefty the same height and weight as Brissie was is again tearing up the minors.

GreenJackets ace Madison Bumgarner struck out 6 in 7 innings of work agianst the Lake County Captains... twice in the 3rd inning he picked runners leaning off first base. Bumgarner gave up just 2 earned runs in a no-decision to run his era to 1.85.

In the 4th inning Andrew Davis cashed in on his first home run of the season... but more importantly for one 'Jackets fan
who held the winning ticket in the GreenJackets ongoing home run contest... he also wins 12 hundred dollars worth of Georgia lottery tickets to go along with that baseball.

With Bumgarner out of the game after 7 innings... Lake County struck for for 4 runs to tie it in the 8th.. but Augusta wins 5-4 on Angel Villalona's 12th home run of the season in the 10th inning.
