Stan Byrdy

With the Jackets leading 3-1 in the 4th inning tonight against Hickory... and Columbus in a must win situation at home to Rome... the bubbly was escorted by the GreenJackets brass into a holding area where it was put on ice for a pending celebration that while it did not happen tonight... is imminent over the next couple days. What is also imminent is that the Jackets will draw over 200 thousand fans this baseball season.

Any combination of Jackets wins or Columbus losses now and Augusta clinches the second half race....with all that in mind postseason tickets went on sale tonight for a playoff game that would take place in Augusta next Wednesday night.
