When Shannon Wilkerson finished up his high school career at Dacula High School in Dacula, Georgia he had a choice to make, take a division 1 scholarship offer to play football or stick with the sport he loved, baseball. I think it's safe to say he made the right choice by staying on the diamond.

On Saturday night the former Augusta State star was in town as a member of the Greenville Drive. Wilkerson went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday night's game. Augusta would go on to win the game 7-3. For the former Jaguar playing in front of his friends and family was a dream come true.

"The whole atmosphere behind it. My friends and family are all within two hours. All my college coaches, a lot of my teammates from Augusta State plus playing on this field. This is the field I played on the past three years at ASU. I've spent a lot of time on this field and it's just great to comeback because I know everyone around the ballpark. It just feels like home here." said Wilkerson

The Drive will wrap up their series with the GreenJackets on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 5:35
