Stan Byrdy

In nearly 30 years as head coach at Paine College... Ron Spry has come to accept the fact that you will win your share... and lose your share. This years edition of the Lions includes four players that averaged between 9 and 14 points per game a year ago.

Though Paine College led 33-32 at the half the Lions couldn't buy a basket down the stretch... and over a period of 8 minutes late in the game did not score a basket... until the closing moments when Augustan Najee Tolbert answers with a basket to end the game... too little too late as Morris wins it 71-62 at Carter Gymnasiium on Monday night.

The Lions will try again for coach Spry's 499th career win at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC this Saturday night.
