For coaches, counting wins is a lot like counting candles on a cake... you're always happy to put up another one... but there's always the realization too that there's just not as much room left on the cake as there used to be.

At Paine College Monday night, Voorhees looked to be the party crashers... as they sunk a late 3 and then forced a turnover in the closing moments. That not only brought them to within 3 but gave them the ball. Coach Spry gave his team a little talking to and stressed team defense... the Lions responded by forcing a turnover of their own... en route to a 68-63 victory.

That's 499 candles now on Ron Spry's career cake... the Lions look to make that 500 victories on the road to Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee this Saturday.
