USC Aiken hits the court for the first time

Wednesday night the USC Aiken basketball program held it's annual midnight madness event. The theme this year, the Rise of the Pacers and it seems fitting considering it was just two years ago USC Aiken lost 24 games. In the two years since they've lost exactly half that.

They will look to build upon that success this season but it won't be easy as Vince Alexander has the task of replacing the top six scorers from last years sweet 16 squad.

But a couple of big time transfers and coach Alexander thinks this team can be every bit as good as the one that won 25 games a year ago.

"I think this team can be as good. I think this team can be better. It's just according to how well we come together and I think we will over the next month. We have a bunch of great kids that are working hard and playing together. I think we're looking forward to a great year." said coach Alexander
