You know the old saying, "I went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out?"... it was that kind of night for the Lynx and Checkers at James Brown Arena.

Charlotte took a 1-0 lead before a series of fisticuffs that punctuated play late in the first period. Bobby Bolt tied things in the second... captain Louie Goulet tied things again in the second... and John Laliberte got the game winner in the third... all three of whom were involved in heated debates with the Checkers.

Jason Kostadine, Nick Toneys and Will Bodine were all involved in a melee that broke off into three separate standoffs with :15 seconds to go in the first period. Augusta not only won the battles, but more importantly the war with a 3-2 victory that puts them in sole possession of third place in the division race.
