Lynx Season Ends In Playoffs

Stan Byrdy

With goalie Bobby Goepfert and offensive stars Shane Hynes and Louie Goulie all nursing injuries, South Carolina proved just a bit much for the Lynx tonight in game 5 of their first round playoff series. The Stingrays got two goals from Stephen Werner in turning back the Lynx 3-1.

The Lynx lone goal was scored by Anthony Battaglia to start the third period. That cut the 'Rays lead to 2-1, but an insurance goal in the closing seconds sealed the victory for South Carolina who moves now to the ECHL South semifinals.
