Augusta Groove "off and running"

Nobody knows that better than the upstart Augusta Groove basketball team... the Augusta Lynx hockey franchise folded last week... the Augusta Colts are off for a season to restructure... and the Aiken Foxhounds did not play last season. Still despite the economic climate two professional basketball franchises will play basketball in Augusta in 2009.

Team practices for the Augusta Groove are now off and running at Richmond Academy... where lots of local talent including former ASU standout Demetrius Howard... a force on last years national championship finalist is being counted on. The Groove opens its season at home on Saturday January 3rd at ARC.
