Retailer pulls Michael Vick jerseys from stores
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - A retailer is apologizing for selling Michael Vick jerseys and has pulled them from Georgia stores after animal rights groups complained. South Georgia leaders of the Humane Society and other animal rights groups complained to Florida-based Bealls Outlet Stores this month after finding replicas of Vick's Atlanta Falcons jersey on store racks in Darien and Waycross. Vick is serving a federal prison sentence after admitting his involvement in a dogfighting ring last year. He also has pleaded guilty to state charges in Virginia. Bealls said it ordered an assortment of Falcons jerseys for its 29 Georgia stores with instructions that it didn't want any Vick jerseys. The retailer said they were included in shipments by mistake.
