AUGUSTA, Ga. - June ended up much warmer and slightly drier than average. The Climate Prediction Center forecasts an equal chance for warmer or cooler than average conditions for the rest of the summer for our area.
Specifically, June ended 2.8 degrees Fahrenheit above average and .41 inch below average for rain at Augusta Bush Field, the official weather monitoring station for our area.
The Climate Prediction Center suggests an equal chance for warmer or cooler than average conditions for the remainder of the summer for the Aiken-Augusta area.
Atmospheric signals strongly suggest the western United States will remain hotter than average through September. Cooler than average temperatures are likely over the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and New England.
