Thanksgiving Rain Will Give You Something To Be Thankful For

Tools

A vigorous cold front and associated trough of low pressure will slam into a building ridge of high pressure over the southeast mid-week, causing rain and thunderstorms to develop.

The NBC Augusta StormTracker Forecast is calling for a 60% chance of rain for Georgia-Carolina on Thanksgiving Day, with showers and thunderstorms continuing into early Friday morning. We expect rainfall amounts to generally be in the quarter-inch at most.

Severe weather is not expected, but as with any clash of airmasses, we'll continue to monitor the situation closely in the StormTracker Weather Center.

Any rain we receive will only put a slight dent in the drought, as our rainfall deficit is now approaching 15 inches for the year.
