AUGUSTA, Ga. - Rain totals from 3 to 5 inches have been recorded over the area since Monday night. Augusta's Bush Field received over 4.60 inches of rain, making this November already the 8th rainiest November since 1950. November is typically the driest month with 2.68 inches of rain.

Thanks to the heavy rain, Augusta is now running a rain surplus of over 3/4 inch for the year. Lake Thurmond is at 331.4 feet which is above the full pool elevation of 330 feet.

The heavy rains came as Tropical Storm Ida interacted with an autumn cold front. The highest rain totals over the Southeast exceeded 6 inches over parts of Alabama, north Georgia, and southern North Carolina.
