See The Shuttle From Your Backyard

Space Shuttle Atlantis is currently docked with the International Space Station (ISS). If skies are clear, you should be able to see the ISS and Space Shuttle move rapidly across the sky from your own backyard each evening Wednesday Feb 13 through Monday February 18.

When viewing the ISS and Space Shuttle, look for very fast-moving specks of light. You'll need to look in the correct direction as shown in the table below, because the objects will come into view and out of view very quickly. Of course, the darker the area, the better the viewing. Good luck!

Space Shuttle Mission STS-122 delivers the Columbus lab to the ISS. Atlantis is expected to land at the Kennedy Space Center Februrary 19 at  10:14 a.m. EST

yes, it is true that you can see the shuttle and iss flying together from ypur own back yard and dont need anything tio see it with but your eyes. its so pretty to see especially when they are close and it is very dark . you would think we were being invaded (lol). you can also see sometimes satelites (sp) flying overhead as well. great time to take a blanket or light the outside fireplace with some hot cocca and spend time with the family...thanks for the info jeff...teresa from martinez
