Georgia Power Workers Try To Restore Power  In Jefferson County

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department tells NBC Augusta hundreds of Georgia Power workers from all over the state have been called in to help restore power in parts of the county.

Jefferson Electric has also assisted in this effort.

So far, all the roads in the county have been cleared of tress.
And rescue crews will check houses that they were unable to get to Saturday night.

The Red Cross will be at the Wrens Baptist Church today for those who are in need of shelter, food or water.

There have been no reports of deaths or major injuries.
