The American Red Cross needs more money to respond to the recent storms in Georgia-Carolina.

A spokesman for the Aiken and Augusta chapters say they are currently in a budget deficit, because they've had to respond to so many disasters this year.

So far the Aiken Red Cross has spent $10,000 on food, clothing, and temporary shelter for those in need.

The Augusta chapter has fed more than 500 people in Jefferson County.

To mail donations send them to the following addresses:

American Red Cross, Augusta Chapter
1322 Ellis Street Augusta, GA 30901
706-724-8481
Augusta Chapter Web Site

Aiken County Chapter of the American Red Cross
1314 Pine Log Road Aiken 29803
803-507-3976

If you'd like you can designate checks for storm relief.
