Storm expected to batter SC coast

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A storm forming off the coast is
expected to bring blustery conditions to parts of South Carolina
through Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a gale warning for
offshore waters with winds approaching tropical storm strength of
more than 40 mph. Seas are expected to build to 16 feet Tuesday
night.

A small craft advisory has been posted for the coastal waters
and a lake wind advisory is in effect for a large swath of the
Midlands southeast into Berkeley County.
