AUGUSTA, Ga. - Weekend rains averaged a little over one inch for most of metro Aiken-Augusta. The rain deficit for the year dropped from nearly five inches late Friday to just under 4 inches Monday evening.

The total rainfall at Augusta-Bush Field for the 4-day period was 1.31 inches. For comparison, Atlanta picked up 2.15 inches and Columbia picked up only .67 inch.

March is typically our rainiest month with an average of 4.61 inches. Thanks to weekend rains, we are on track for average rain this month. Unfortunately, the next week looks generally dry, so we'll need to hope for more rain during the last week of the month.

Continue to conserve water where possible as we still expect generally dry conditions through Spring.
