The NBC Augusta Storm Spotter Team
The NBC Augusta’s Spotter Team is made up of members of the CSRA community dedicated to providing essential and timely storm reports to our on-air StormTracker Weather Team. The Storm Spotter Team (SST) comprises more than 50 local residents, most now veteran SKYWARN certified members, who also have advanced SKYWARN training. When storms strike the SST is activated, and ready to report storm damage, hail size, significant rainfall amounts, and storm features. This information is critical to informing the public with the most accurate details when severe weather is occurring. Our main goal is to keep the CSRA safe and better informed through quarterly Spotter Team meetings and training. If you would like to join, and/or receive our free “Spotter News” updates, fill out our easy sign up sheet and questionnaire.
