Yesterday morning around 8:15am was a beautiful, sunny, cool morning much like today. Before I went outside to feed the animals, I went into the kitchen to put the coffee on, then returned to my bedroom to put eye drops in my eyes. Much like I do every morning. Only this time as I was administering the eye drops, I noticed a plume of smoke coming up from my make-up dresser! I immediately started looking for the cause of the smoke, and just as soon as I saw that it was coming from a plant on the table, the plant leaf burst into flames! I put the fire out and looked for the cause of the fire. Upon closer inspection, I realized the sun was shining through the bedroom window, into my mirror, and reflecting onto the plant. It was burning a hole into the plant much like using a magnifying glass and the sun. I can only thank God that I was at home, in my bedroom, and happened to see the smoke! God only knows what could of happened if I was in the back fields feeding the horses. I could of lost my home or God forbid my children! So please, anyone out there that are reading this, please be aware of what you have sitting in the window, in the sunshine! Make sure it's not reflecting the light onto something that can or will ignite! Even something as unassuming as a house plant!
