My son and I left on the afternoon of Friday July 24th with some friends for a weekend of hiking. I was fortunate to have been asked a few weeks prior by Michael Lammers to go on this trip with him and some of his girls. We started on the Appalachian trail at Woody Gap. After hiking to the top of Big Cedar we set up camp and spent the night. In the morning we hiked more of the trail then trekked down to Lake Winfield Scott. We had lunch and everyone went swimming in the cool mountain lake. Then we were back on the trail to the top of Blood Mountain, which is the highest peak on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia with an elevation of 4,458 ft. We set up camp near the peak and ate dinner. The food was strung up in a tree out of reach of the bears. Following a night of much needed sleep we descended Blood Mountain on the AT to Neels Gap. This was the end of our weekend on the Appalachian Trail.

The 2nd pic was taken at Myrtle Beach, SC on our family vacation and my little girl had just gotten finished helping daddy build a sand castle.
My family and I love to travel together. We originally planned our trip to New York City during Masters week because my birthday falls on April 5th but due to the death of my grandfather, our trip got delayed. The first time I traveled to New York City was in March of 2008. I am part of The Augusta Children's Chorale which is a local chorale group for kids 3rd-12th grade and in 2008 we got the amazing opportunity to sing in Carnegie Hall. Singing there has been the proudest moment of my life because I was not only representing Augusta, GA but America too. My family came to watch me and we enjoyed the city so much then we just had to come back. The first time I went I did not have the chance to go inside Central Park so the second trip I made sure to see it. I adore this area of New York and I spent a good deal of time there. It is calm and peaceful there and a quite break from the rumbling busy city. I hope to return to New York in the near future to take many more photographs! Photography is definitely a passion of mine and I love to be able to capture the moment through the lens of my camera. Nothing beats spending time with family, especially if you can admire God's beauty at the same time.

These three images can only briefly cover the wonderful events and opportunity I have had to travel this summer. Being only 16, I never thought i would have such a chance to go to Europe and see for myself the history I read about in textbooks at school. I went to France, Italy, and Greece with an amazing organization called People to People and I simply had the time of my life. I took hundreds of pictures to help me remember my trip many years from now along with the memories that will be with me for the rest of my life.
